LCD Soundsystem are doing their 2024 NYC holiday residency all at Knockdown Center this year, a space that allows for opening bands, afterparties with DJs, and a Four Horsemen natural wine bar pop-up. Tickets go on AMEX presale today at 10 AM, with fan presale starting Wednesday, September 25 at 10 AM (register), and the general public onsale starting Thursday, September 26 at 10 AM.
James Murphy shared a post on LCD’s socials today about the 2024 shows, why they decided to do them all at Knockdown Center and what to expect:
winter is coming, and we all know what that means by now. we’re going to post up in new york for a bit and play a bunch of shows. last year we learned something valuable. when we played at the knockdown center, we were able to have the four horsemen wine bar in the back, the stage was big enough to have another band playing before us, and we could bring dj’s in to play after and keep the fun alive. it was pretty magical. the crowds were the most responsive we’d had on the run. it felt like the new york i moved into in the late 80s. we loved it.
so we’re doubling down on the neighborhood party vibes and playing 12 shows, with a different band each weekend, 4 horsemen action, djs, and a dfa records swap-meet record store pop up. we can’t wait. i think this will be the best bunch of parties yet!
They’ve also announced the opening acts, three bands who will play four shows each: Poolside play the first weekend’s shows (November 21-24); Gustaf play weekend 2 (December 5-8); and Fcukers play the third weekend (December 12-15).
