Brighton, UK post-punk duo Lambrini Girls have just released a new single, “Body of Mine.” It was recorded with Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox in December along with recent single “God’s Country,” and it’s a ripper that the band says “is about trying to connect to your gender identity, feeling like you’re not fully yourself, and struggling to figure out how to truly become it. Gender is a complex experience, we acknowledge that this song represents just one perspective among many, of not knowing where you fit inside it all. It’s tough to feel that nobody really gets you and it’s also truly quite shit when you don’t really know how to understand yourself either.” Check it out below.
The band are gearing up to open Amyl and the Sniffers‘ upcoming US tour, including the Jersey City show on July 20 at White Eagle Hall. They also have a headlining Brooklyn show happening right before that on July 19 at The Sultan Room with rising DC post-punks Ekko Astral (who just released their great debut album pink balloons last week) and Brooklyn locals Pons. All dates are listed below.
Sooner than that, Ekko Astral open part of Ted Leo and the Pharmacists’ Shake the Sheets 20th anniversary tour, including the shows at Asbury Park’s Stone Pony on June 19 and Brooklyn’s Warsaw on June 21.
