King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard are going orchestral for a 2025 North American tour where they’ll perform with local orchestras across the US and Canada, all conducted by the tour’s musical director, Sarah Hicks. Dates kick off July 28 in Philadelphia and include stops in New Haven, NYC, DC, Chicago, Denver, and San Diego before wrapping up with Field of Vision, a three-day residency camping event at Meadow Creek in Buena Vista, CO. This will be King Gizzard’s only tour of the US in 2025 and all dates are listed below.
The NYC dates are Forest Hills Stadium on August 1 (w/ Orchestra of St Luke’s) and August 2 (“rock n’ roll” show, no orchestra). This will be their third year in a row playing Forest HIlls. Tickets for Forest Hills, all dates of the tour, go on sale Friday, November 1 at 11 AM Eastern (8 AM Pacific).
For a taste of what the tour might sound like, King Gizzard have shared a new orchestral single, “Phantom Island,” which they hint is part of a new, not officially announced album. They say: “Hello world. So our last album was 10 songs. Except we recorded 20 in that session. Here’s a track from the other set of 10. It’s even more maxxed out than the last one. There’s a whole fuckin’ orchestra on there. Hahahahahah! But for real, what a joy to be alive. A privilege to be making music for a living and to be here still after all these years. Meanwhile, King Gizzard are back in North America this week, beginning Friday (11/1) at The Forum in LA with dates on the West Coast, Southwest and South, wrapping up in Miami on November 21.
