The jammy Japanese psych band Kikagaku Moyo broke up in 2022, but singer/drummer/cofounder Go Kurosawa has since launched a solo career, releasing his debut album soft shakes last year on his Guruguru Brain label. If you dug his band’s heady, trippy music there is lots to love here, and you can listen below.
Go Kurosawa will be on his first solo tour in the US starting next week at Knoxville’s Big Ears Festival and then Boise’s Treefort Music Fest. Shows after that are on the West Coast but he will hit NYC before leaving, playing in-the-round at Le Poisson Rouge on April 8 with Gift Horse. All dates are listed below.
