Songwriter, composer and musician Kelsey Lu has announced her first album in 7 years. So Help Me God, the follow-up to 2019’s fantastic Blood, is due out June 12 via Dirty Hit. She produced it with Jack Antonoff and Yves Rothman, and it features Sampha, Kamasi Washington and Kim Gordon. “So Help Me God was built slowly and intentionally across seven years of transformation,” Lu says. “Sonically and emotionally it holds so many different worlds at once – devotion and desire, collapse and becoming – trying to make sense of what it means to break, to believe, to long for something without seeing it clearly, and to be reborn again and again and again.” See the cover art and tracklist below.

Lu will play a bi-coastal Blue Note residency next month, with shows at NYC’s Blue Note Jazz Club on April 16 and 17, and Los Angeles’ Blue Note on April 25 and 26. There are early and late shows for all 4 dates.
