Cult folk veteran Kath Bloom released her enchanting new album Pass Through Here on Chapter Music last month, and during those sessions she also recorded a cover of Tom Petty‘s “Learning To Fly.” She gives the song the same kind of somber, bare-bones delivery that she brings to her own material, and her unique take on it is really worth hearing. We’ve got the premiere of the track — you can listen below.
The Connecticut-based Kath is also coming to NYC to play a show at Mercury Lounge this Sunday (3/15) with Erin Durant and Bop Tweedie. Tickets are on sale now. It’s her only announced date at the moment.
