Jesse Malin announces comeback benefit show ft. J Mascis, Lucinda Williams, Rickie Lee Jones, more

Just over a year after he revealed that he’d suffered a rare spinal-cord stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down, Jesse Malin has announced his return to the stage! He’ll play the biggest hometown NYC show of his career so far at Beacon Theatre on December 1, where he’ll by joined by his band and a bunch of special guests, including Lucinda Williams, Rickie Lee Jones, Jakob Dylan, Butch Walker, J Mascis, Adam Duritz and David Immy of Counting Crows, and Alejandro Escovedo, with more to be announced. Michael Imperioli and Mary-Louise Parker will host. UPDATE: Second show added!

Proceeds from tickets will go to funding Jesse’s medical care via his Sweet Relief artist fund, and premium and VIP options are also available. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 28 at 10 AM ET, with a presale starting Wednesday, June 26 at 10 AM ET (use the password PATRONSAINTS).

Also on the way is a guest-filled new benefit album celebrating Jesse’s music, Silver Patron Saints: The Songs of Jesse Malin, which comes out in September, featuring Bruce Springsteen, Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong, Lucinda Williams and Elvis Costello, The Hold Steady, Tommy Stinson, Alison Mosshart with the late Wayne Kramer, Tom Morello, Counting Crows, Dinosaur Jr., The Wallflowers, Spoon, Susanna Hoffs, Frank Turner, and Rancid. Malin also has a new live album and concert film, Chasing the Light, out now, which you can stream below and purchase here.
