Japanese psych act Kikagaku Moyo ready ‘House in the Tall Grass,’ share 1st single

Kikagaku-Moyo

Japanese band Kikagaku Moyo formed in Tokyo back in 2012, mixing elements of folk, psych and krautrock. They released their debut album in 2013, then released a cassette and made their way west to play Austin Psych Fest in 2014. The band’s new album, House in the Tall Grass, will be out May 13 and the first single is the pastoral and quite lovely “Kogarashi” which guitarist/vocalist Tomo told us about:

I came up with the melody and rhythm of Kogarashi, when I was about to fall asleep at the park. It was a nice warm day in the Autumn to get stoned and pass out in the park. I remember I was surrounded by the many-colored dead leaves and felt warm when I woke up. But all of the sudden, Kogarashi (the Autumn wind) blew all of the leaves away. It was a beautiful and psychedelic Autumn moment.

Stream “Kogarashi” and check out the album art and tracklist, below.

Kikagaku Moyo don’t have any North American shows coming up, but they will be playing UK/EU dates this spring. Those are listed below.
