Irreversible Entanglements–the free jazz group featuring Camae Ayewa (Moor Mother), Luke Stewart, Aquiles Navarro, Keir Neuringer, and Tcheser Holmes–have announced a new album, Protect Your Light, due September 8 via Impulse! Records, marking their label debut (pre-order). The album’s first single is “Free Love,” which is fueled by spoken word poetry by Moor Mother that’s just as stirring, shapeshifting, and always-unpredictable as the instrumentation.
