Pop star Sombr has been taking a page out of Olivia Rodrigo‘s book recently, having rock vets join him onstage at his shows. He brought out Cranberries guitarist Noel Hogan and bassist Mike Hogan for “Linger” in Dublin last month, and making his Coachella debut at weekend one on Saturday (4/11), he invited Smashing Pumpkins‘ Billy Corgan out for a rendition of their Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness hit “1979.” It was also Corgan’s first time performing at the festival, and he wrote on Instagram afterwards, “Rock and roll under the desert sky—my first time at Coachella. Thank you Sombr.” Watch video below.
Sombr followed his Coachella set with a big tour announcement, which has him headlining arenas with support from Interpol (who also played Coachella on Saturday – maybe Sombr will bring them out as guests at one of their shows together?), The Last Dinner Party, Tom Odell, Dove Cameron, Balu Brigadu, King Princess, The Hellp, and Hannah Jadagu, varying by date. There’s a Newark show at Prudential Center on November 21, and an NYC show on November 23 at Madison Square Garden, both with Dove Cameron and Hannah Jadagu.
