Back in 2014, Yellow Ostrich broke up and frontman Alex Schaaf revealed he’d be continuing to make music as Human Heat. Human Heat’s debut full-length, All Is Too Much, comes out on September 15 (pre-order). It was mixed, mastered, and features drumming by Zach Hanson (who’s also worked with Bon Iver), and Yellow Ostrich/Beirut/War on Drugs horn player Jon Natchez contributes to two songs.
We’re premiering “Best For You” off the new album, which is a real throwback to the pop-indie era that Yellow Ostrich came up in. Sounding like the middle ground between Local Natives, Beirut, and Voxtrot, “Best For You” is an instantly-familiar (and enjoyable) trip back to the late aughts. Get nostalgic by listening below.
