Haircut 100, the early-’80s new wave band who pioneered a tropical-disco sound and the look of tucking off-white cable-knit sweaters into pleated trousers, have announced their first US tour since the ’80s. The band, which includes classic lineup members Nick Heyward, Blair Cunningham, Les Nemes and Graham Jones plus a horn section and percussion players, will be over as openers of Howard Jones and ABC‘s co-headline tour, making for an all-around fun ’80s-themed triple bill.
The tour wraps up in the NYC area with shows at NJ’s Wellmont Theater on September 4, Port Chester’s The Capitol Theatre on September 5 and Long Island’s The Paramount on September 6. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, April 26 at 10 AM local time.

While not as well known as their tourmates, Haircut 100 were a terrific, if short-lived band, whose debut album, Pelican West, spawned UK hits with “Love Plus One,” “Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl),” and “Fantastic Day,” which were all MTV staples at the time.
