Guided by Voices have announced their 40th album, which is fittingly titled Strut of Kings and will be out June 28th via Rockathon / GBV Inc. After a few very prolific release years, the band say this will be their only album of 2024. (That still leaves Bob Pollard side projects as a possibility.) You can listen to the album’s first single, “Serene King,” another of Pollard’s effortless earworms, below.
Bob and the rest of the band are gearing up for a busy touring year and have added a summer leg, including stops in Cleveland, Burlington, Woodstock, Kalamazoo, Milwaukee, Richmond, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and more. GBV’s NYC show is June 21 at Irving Plaza with The Moles.
