Greg Freeman has announced his third album, All Set the Bone. It’s the follow-up to last year’s Burnover, one of our favorite albums of the year, and it’s due out October 2 via Transgressive/Canvasback. It was produced by John Congleton, and features his longtime collaborators Garrett Linck and Sam Atallah, as well as Florry’s Joey Sullivan, The Rockin Worms’ Carney Hemler, Anna McClellan, and Trinity Ace. Freeman calls it a “reflection of a lot of change, and a lot of tension,” adding, “I had this epiphany moment where I understood what the next record should be, which surprised me, because I thought it would take a lot longer to have the influences or inspiration required to undertake writing a new album.”
The first single is the instantly-infectious “Indu,” which turns up the dial on Burnover‘s appealing indie rock, well-seasoned with with some Americana crunch. Watch the video, animated by Rob Riggs, below.
Freeman has a Brooklyn show tonight (7/21) at Union Pool with Wendy Eisenberg, and then he’ll be on tour in Europe starting in August. He’s announced new fall North American dates in October and November, where he’ll have Hello Shark, Touch Girl Apple Blossom, and Robber Robber each joining him, varying by show. See all dates below.
The NYC show is at Webster Hall on November 20 with Robber Robber. Tickets to that and all new dates go on sale Friday, July 24 at 10 AM local.
