Green Day are about to begin their stadium tour with The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas, which includes an NYC show at Citi Field on August 5. Before that, they’ll be in Manhattan for an early morning show in Central Park on July 26. It’s part of Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series, and you’ll be able to request tickets starting today (6/26) at noon ET.
Also playing GMA’s series this year are Kane Brown (7/19), Carrie Underwood (8/2), Nicky Jam (8/9), G-Eazy (8/16), SOFI TUKKER (8/23), Megan Moroney (8/30), and Old Dominion (9/6). Find more details here.
Green Day were also in NYC earlier this year for a few intimate shows to celebrate their new album Saviors, playing Rough Trade, Irving Plaza, and on the subway. They’ll be playing Dookie and American Idiot on their tour, celebrating the 30th and 20th anniversary of the albums; in an interview with Rolling Stone, Mike Dirnt said, “We’ve never done anything like this before. And there’s a really good chance we’ll never do it again.” He added that in addition to the new albums, they’d have “35 to 45 minutes to throw down on other stuff.” See all dates below.
