Before Goldenvoice became the AEG-owned company behind Coachella and other massive festivals, they started out as some of the West Coast’s biggest punk promoters in the 1980s and put on all kinds of now-legendary shows. They’ve just put up a teaser for another of the smaller genre-specific festivals that they’ve been throwing lately, and it looks like this one’s a return to their punk roots.
We don’t know who’s performing yet, but the teaser video, posted on the fest’s new Instagram account, features a bunch of old Goldenvoice posters with blacked-out band names. Some internet sleuths have taken the time to figure out some of those names, and they include bands like The Damned, Descendents, Social Distortion, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Butthole Surfers, Sham 69, The Exploited, and more. We can’t be 100% sure if those bands are all playing, but it looks like they’ve at least given us an idea of the festival’s genre and era.
