Brooklyn composer and singer-songwriter Gabriel Kahane will appear as a special guest with chamber ensemble The Knights at their show at Carneige Hall on Thursday (5/16). He’ll join them for the New York premiere of his piano concerto, Heirloom, written for his father, pianist Jeffrey Kahane, as well as a performance of “Where Are The Arms,” arranged for orchestra, vocals, and guitar.
Thursday night’s show will also feature the world premiere of a new orchestration of Jessie Montgomery‘s Rhapsody No. 2 by Michi Wiancko, co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall; the New York premiere of Anna Clyne‘s Shorthand for cello and orchestra, featuring The Knights’ Karen Ouzounian; and Mozart’s Symphony No. 31, “Paris.” Tickets are on sale now.
