Franz Ferdinand are “nauseated and furious” after the Israeli Defense Force used their song “Take Me Out” in a propaganda video shared over the weekend. The video in question, which has since been taken down, was captioned “Operation Roaring Lion – this is how it’s done“ and featured footage of Israel’s recent strikes against Iran.
“These warmongering murderers are using our music without our consent,” frontman Alex Kapranos wrote in the Instagram story. “This makes us both nauseous and furious. Kind of typical though, isn’t it? To strut up and take what isn’t theirs with a vile arrogance…”
Meanwhile Franz Ferdinand have announced headline shows around their appearances at Montreal’s Osheaga and their opening slot for My Chemical Romance to openNYC concert at Citi Field on August 9. Their tour starts August 2 in Buffalo and wraps up August 15 in Dallas. All dates are listed below.
The tour includes shows at New Haven, CT’s College Street Music Hall on August 7, and Long Island’s The Paramount on August 8. Tickets for all headline shows go on sale Friday, March 13 at 10 AM local time.
