Back in March, Chubby and The Gang, the project of Charlie Manning Walker, seemed to call it a day with a post on Instagram, writing, “Every dog has his day, ours came and went away. Thank you for the good times sorry for the bad ones and for a great six years. Who fuckin loves ya? Chubby does.” As Stereogum points out, Walker has reemerged as vocalist of a new band, EZ8. They’ve released their first recordings, which were done at Fuzzbrain Studios and mastered by Daniel Husayn, via Static Shock Records, four songs that are also coming out as a 7″ “in the near future.” Hear those below.
“Please say hello to EZ8! They are a brand new London band with a lot of familiar faces that we go way back with,” the description reads. In addition to Walker, those familiar faces (which are currently identified only by first name) include Jimmy (guitar), Joe (drums), Luca (guitar), and Sarny (bass).
EZ8 will play their first show at London’s New River Studios on Saturday (10/11), with Puffer and The Dogs.
