Boston shoegaze greats Drop Nineteens announced last year that they were reforming to make a new album and that has now officially been announced. Hard Light, the band’s first in 30 years, will be out November 3 via Wharf Cat Records. The record features the full original lineup of the group: bandleader Greg Ackell, Steve Zimmerman, Paula Kelley, Motohiro Yasue, and Peter Koeplin. Check out the cover art and tracklist below.
The first single from the album is “Scapa Flow,” which finds Drop Nineteens’ sound as hazy, drony and melodic as ever. You can watch the video for it below.
Drop Nineteens will also be touring this fall with Greg Mendez, Horse Jumper of Love, and Winter joining depending on the date. Cities include DC, Philly, Boston, Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Oakland. Details below.
