DC/Baltimore alt-radio station WHFS, which went off the air in 2005, used to put on the HFStival every summer and during the ’90s held court at RFK Stadium with some pretty legendary lineups. A few commemorative post-station editions were held at Merriweather Post Pavilion, the last of which happened in 2011. The HFStival is being resurrected by The Washington Nationals and I.M.P. (who own DC venues 9:30 Club, The Anthem and The Atlantis) on September 21 at Nationals Park.
The 2024 lineup features a few bands who played HFStivals before plus a few acts “who we always thought should’ve played the festival”: The Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, Incubus, Bush, Garbage, Jimmy Eat World, Girl Talk, Violent Femmes, Tonic, Filter and Lit.
Tickets for HFStival 2024 will use a lottery system and you can sign up now through June 16.
