David Grubbs, veteran of such lauded indie rock groups as Gastr del Sol, Squirrel Bait, and Bastro, will release a new album, Whistle from Above, on February 28 via Drag City. It’s his first solo album since 2017’s Creep Mission and his first instrumental record for Drag City. You can get a taste now via “The Snake on Its Tail,” which is as desolate and forboding as the Midwest winter scenes in its video. Watch below.
