Boy Harsher have announced new album, GET MEAN, which will be out September 18 via Nude Club / Atlantic. (Preorder the vinyl.) “We’re all running from something / we’re all running to something – GET MEAN is our road album,” Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller say, noting it was recorded over the last two years in eight different cities. It’s also a breakup album — Matthews and Muller split, romantically — with Jae saying it’s “what I had to give during the most extreme period of my life.”
GET MEAN includes great recent single “Jeans” and they’ve just shared another moody banger, “Hard Beat.” As usual, Boy Harsher also directed the stylish video which they say was inspired by Helmut Newton and Gregg Araki. You can watch that below.
Boy Harsher will be on tour this fall starting September 25 at Basilica Hudson and wrapping up in NYC on November 5 at Knockdown Center with True Blue and Kassie Krut. They’ll also play Philly’s Making Time ∞ festival and support Turnstile in Santa Ana, CA. All dates are listed below.
