Bishop Allen were regulars on the NYC indie scene through most of the 2000s and into the 2010s, making very catchy, twee-leaning indie rock across four albums and many EPs. Their song “Click, Click, Click, Click” was memorably used in a Sony camera commercial, and the band appeared in the film Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (and their song “Middle Management” was used in its trailer).
The band have been on hiatus since 2015 but co-founders Justin Rice and Christian Rudder (who both appeared in mumblecore classic Funny Ha Ha) are “shaking of the rust” and just announced their first shows in more than a decade, a short run happening in January with Mates of State and hitting Kingston, Boston, Hamden, NYC, and DC.
The Kingston show is at Tubby’s on January 13 and the NYC show is at Bowery Ballroom on January 16.
