Big Thief have shared “Shark Smile” off their forthcoming album, Capacity. “‘Shark Smile’ is the story of a car accident in which one dies and one lives,” says singer and songwriter Adrianne Lenker. “She recalls her lover leading up to the moment of the wreck, wishing she’d been taken into the next realm, too.” There’s a haunting quality to the music, as well, with some lovely atmospheric guitar overtop of its strummy rhythm. Capacity is out June 9 via Saddle Creek and Big Thief will play a release show at Rough Trade the same day which is with with Mega Bog and part of Northside. Advance tickets are sold out but you can still get in with a Northside badge, based on capacity. They’re also touring with Conor Oberst this summer, including a BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! show at Prospect Park on July 20 with fellow Saddle Creek band Hop Along (tickets).
