UK shoegazers bdrmm have launched a crowdfund campaign to cover costs of their fall tour after a festival didn’t pay them for their performance. They call this an “unfortunate and desperate situation” and say, “we don’t take this decision lightly but due to the referent festival circumstances (of withholding to pay us a promised €6.5k – and cost us upwards of £3k to travel too) this seems like the only way forwards to help us in covering our upcoming tour costs. we would appreciate anything you can give to help us in these upsetting times. to be on the receiving end of essentially being stolen from is crushing.”
The band does not name names as to what festival stiffed them other than it was “outside of the country.” The campaign — dubbed the “The ‘bdrmm got effed over’ fund” — launched on September 1 and is currently 70% of the way towards their £6,500 goal.
bdrmm released their excellent second album, I Don’t Know, in June via Mogwai’s Rock Action label.
