Brisbane band Blank Realm have been around for nearly a decade, blending bluesy punk, arty noise, melodic hooks and heaps of snarly attitude into a sound that’s distinctly Australian and now distinctly their own. Following a string of self-released CDRs, cassettes and 7″s, the band released the terrific, if underheard, Grassed Inn last year and are now about to release its follow-up. Illegals in Heaven will be out September 4 via Fire/Bedroom Suck. You can get a taste by way of single “River Of Longing” which offers a more rough-n-tumble version of late-’80s Flying Nun-style janglepop (There’s some Bats in there). Blank Realm have toured the U.S. before but so far no dates on this side of the world have been announced. They will be in the UK and Europe in September and those dates are listed below…
