Ulrika Spacek frontman Rhys Edwards will release his second solo album as Astrel K, titled Foreign Department, on March 8 via Tough Love Records. Edwards made the album in his current home of Stockholm, Sweden and it finds him expanding the sonic scope of his great Astrel K debut with lush string and brass arrangements.
The first single from the album is “Darkness at Noon,” a beautiful baroque creation that recalls ’70s pop while cutting it with his penchant for drone and unusual chord progressions. It’s a lovely song and you can listen below.
Astrel K will celebrate the release of Foreign Department with a string of in-store performances in the UK, and those are listed below.
