ASkySoBlack have confirmed that their debut album will be called Touch Heaven and will arrive later this year via New Morality Zine. Most details are still TBA, but they’ve just shared its lead single, “Boy Like A Bruise.” It’s a heavy, soaring shoegaze/post-hardcore hybrid that picks up right where their 2022 EP Autumn In The Water left off, and it’s a very promising first taste. Vocalist/guitarist Jordan Shteif says:
I wrote “Boy Like A Bruise” about being one. I can be horribly sore to people when I’m hurting and it has led to the loss of a lot of friendship and a lot of love. The chorus references these losses followed by me asking myself how I learned to hurt myself in such a way. I think the song sounds cold and indifferent which ends up matching the lyrics.

ASkySoBlack also just announced a tour with Soul Blind (who are headlining) and Stand Still (who just announced their debut album Steps Ascending). That hits Ridgewood, NY’s TV Eye on June 13 and Lake Como, NJ’s Salty’s Beach Bar on June 16. Tickets are on sale now. All dates below.
