Mount Moriah singer Heather McEntire just released her excellent solo debut as H.C. McEntire this past Friday, and now she’s playing two City Winery shows, opening for Justin Townes Earle.
Jen Cloher, Mia Dyson @ Rough Trade
Australian singer-songwriter Jen Cloher has a ragged blues style that works well with her lightly smoky, understated vocals. You may have seen her opening on Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile’s tour last year, and Courtney (who is her partner) also plays in Jen’s band.
“Elton John: I’m Still Standing-A GRAMMY Salute” w/ Sam Smith, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Chris Martin, Little Big Town, Keith Urban, Elton John, Miley Cyrus, John Legend, Kesha @ Madison Square Garden
Elton John performed at The Grammys last night with Miley Cyrus, and she’ll be on hand at MSG again tonight, along with a whole bunch of other famous musicians, to pay tribute to Sir Reg. If you can’t make it, the concert will be broadcast on CBS later this year.
Springsteen on Broadway @ Walter Kerr Theatre
The Boss continues his completely sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which has now been extended through June! At these shows, Bruce plans to give fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”
