David Cross @ Littlefield
David Cross has been a mainstay at small Brooklyn clubs recently as he works on a new show. After a bunch of Union Hall nights, he’s “Shootin’ the Shit, Seein’ What Sticks” at LIttlefield.
Four Tet @ National Sawdust
Acclaimed electronic artist, producer, remixer and DJ, Four Tet debuts his new live set in Brooklyn with five intimate National Sawdust shows.
Moby @ Rough Trade
Moby celebrates the release of new album Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt with two very intimate Rough Trade shows.
Goat Girl, Giant Peach, Public Practice @ Union Pool
UK group Goat Girl, whose debut album is due later this year via Rough Trade (and sound like they could’ve been on Rough Trade in 1981), make their NYC live debut tonight. If you’re going, get there early for Public Practice which is the band from Samantha and Vince from Wall, along with Drew and Scott of Beverly (it’s only their second show ever).
Lee Ann Womack, Charlie Worsham @ City Winery
Lee Ann Womack was a country star in the ’90s, found crossover pop success in the ’00s, and then returned to classic country sounds this decade. She released new album The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone last year on ATO.
Nervous Dater, Spandrels, Human People, Dodgeball @ ALPHAVILLE
Last year, NYC indie punks released their debut LP Don’t Be A Stranger, which was produced by Hop Along’s Joe Reinhart and would probably appeal to fans of Hop Along.
Ty Dolla $ign, Marc E. Bassy, Dre Sinatra, Toni Romiti @ Irving Plaza
Hip hop crooner Ty Dolla $ign’s smooth voice is everywhere thanks to his many solo releases and notable collaborations, and tonight you can hear it in person.
Judas Priest, Saxon, Black Star Riders @ Prudential Center
Heavy metal legends Judas Priest are fresh off releasing their very fun new album Firepower, which basically sounds straight out of their late ’70s / early ’80s era. They’re on tour now playing a few new ones and tons of classics from said late ’70s / early ’80s era. Having just played Nassau Coliseum over the weekend, their second of two NYC-area shows is tonight.
Springsteen on Broadway @ Walter Kerr Theatre
The Boss continues his completely sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which has now been extended through June! At these shows, Bruce is giving fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”
