For those complaining that rap isn’t what it used to be, few new school rappers pay homage to the golden era as expertly as Joey Bada$$ does. This bill is pretty stacked, with weirdo rapper Father, Joey’s collaborator G Herbo (fka Lil Herb), NYC’s perma-stoned Smoke DZA, and more.

Cake Shop Comedy @ Cake Shop
If you miss Big Terrific and Hannibal Buress’ Sunday night show at Knit, and are looking for a new free, weekly comedy show that happens in a rock club and sometimes has big name talent stop by unexpectedly, “Cake Shop Comedy” might do the trick. Tonight’s show is part of Chloe Hilliard’s December residency and has Matteo Lane, Liz Magee, Molly Ruben-Long, Mike Joyce, Laurie Kilmartin, and Aparna Nancherla.
Justin Vivian Bond: Angels We Have Heard When High @ Joe’s Pub
Part of the year-long Justin Vivian Bond retrospective at Joe’s Pub, it’s JVB’s Holiday Extravaganza where he invites you to “pull your twinkles from the box, dust off your balls, and grab that MDMA you hid behind your tree for ’tis the season to get lit, tune in, turn on and listen to THE VOICES OF AN ANGEL!”
