Cymbals Eat Guitars, Laura Stevenson, Antarctigo Vespucci, Mikey Erg @ Shea Stadium
This is a good show for a good cause with sky-reaching indie rockers Cymbals Eat Guitars, punky singer/songwriter Laura Stevenson, Jeff Rosenstock and Chris Farren’s Antarctigo Vespucci project, and the busiest man in punk, Mikey Erg. They’re accepting coats for the New York Cares coat drive and unused toys for Safe Horizon, and all proceeds from the door will go to Safe Horizon.
Sleater-Kinney, Perfect Pussy @ Irving Plaza
Sleater-Kinney made a triumphant return this year, coming back after a ten-year hiatus with a killer new album and live shows that were electric as ever. They wrap up this year with five more NYC shows, which continue tonight. Each has a different opener, and tonight it’s Perfect Pussy, whose short/fast/intense songs should be a good start to the night.
Steve Earle, Jackson Browne, Justin Townes Earle, The Mastersons @ Town Hall
Steve Earle, his equally talented son Justin, mellow vet Jackson Browne, and Texas duo The Mastersons, all play tonight to benefit autismn research.
Yoshimio/Yuka Honda/Susie Ibarra Trio , Hisham Bharoocha/Brian Chase/Ben Vida/Ryan Sawyer @ Baby’s All Right
Boredoms’ Yoshimio is in the midst of her five collaborative NYC shows, this being the fourth. It’s with Cibo Matto’s Yuka Honda and composer/percussonist Susie Ibarra. The opener is a four-way collaboration, featuring YYYs drummer Brian Chase and more.
