Beach House, Romantic States @ Baby’s All Right
Baltimore’s Beach House celebrates their new album Depression Cherry with this just-announced intimate show. Good luck getting tickets (they’re on sale at noon) but for those who do get them it’s likely to be a special night.
DJ Windows 98 (Win Butler of Arcade Fire), Chrome Sparks (DJ Set) @ Le Poisson Rouge
You’ve seen him wow arenas full of fans as frontman for Arcade Fire; tonight you can see Win Butler spin tunes on his laptop as DJ Windows 98.
Tei Shi, Newtown Radio DJs @ MoMA
The final installment of the 2015 MoMA Nights series, you can catch Brooklyn-based (by way of Canada and Argentina) artist Tei Shi tonight in the museum’s sculpture garden. Free with museum entry.
Phuture, DJ Pierre, Turtle Bugg @ Output
With their squelching, 303-fueled track “In Your Mind,” Chicago’s Phuture basically invented acid house. Having played NYC for the first time ever earlier this year, they’re back in town tonight.
The Good Life, Big Harp, Anna McClellan @ Bowery Ballroom
Cursive’s Tim Kasher also fronts The Good Life, and this month they put out Everybody’s Coming Down, their first album in eight years. They’re on tour supporting it now, and hitting NYC tonight.
Earth, Holy Suns @ Saint Vitus
Masters of drone metal Earth are on tour now with Emil Amos’ band Holy Sons. They played LPR last night, and tonight they wrap up their NYC run at Saint Vitus. Sold out.
Sean Price memorial show @ SOB’s
Influential and beloved MC Sean Price stayed true to his ’90s roots for his entire career, keeping that sound alive as recently as this month’s Songs in the Key of Price mixtape. Sadly, he passed away at the too-young age of 43 this month, and this show will honor him.
