Turnpike Troubadours made a triumphant return to NYC with Hayes Carll (pics)

Alt-country trailblazers Turnpike Troubadours are gearing up for their comeback album A Cat In The Rain, but first they’re in the midst of a tour that landed in NYC last night (7/25) for the first of two consecutive Beacon Theater shows with Hayes Carll. They played both singles from the upcoming album (“Mean Old Sun” and “Chipping Mill”) and another not-yet-released new song, plus a mix of stuff from all over their career including a very good chunk of their fan-fave 2010 LP Diamonds & Gasoline. The crowd was clearly glad to have them back and were singing every word, and the band was in great spirits and tremendous form. Hayes Carll got a great reception as well.

Pictures by P Squared continue below. There are still some tickets available for tonight’s (7/26) show.
