The Julie Ruin at House of Vans – 5/9/15
The series of free ‘Almost Summer’ shows at House of Vans kicked off over the weekend with Kathleen Hanna’s current band The Julie Ruin. It was their first NYC show since MHOW in 2013, following last year’s cancelled run of dates due to Kathleen’s illness. Opening the show was Bleached, who included back to back covers of Misfits and The Damned, and Youth Code were on DJ duty.
The House of Vans series continues on May 23 with Parquet Courts, Radioactivity and Pill. More pictures of this past Saturday’s show, below…
