Ted Leo & The Pharmacists celebrated ‘Shake The Sheets’ with Ekko Astral at Warsaw (pics, video, setlist)

Ted Leo & The Pharmacists wrapped up the first leg of their tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Shake The Sheets in Brooklyn on Sunday (6/23). They took the stage at Warsaw to looped dialog from X-Men ’97 and performed their classic fourth album from beginning to end. Ted then did a couple of songs solo, renditions of “A Bottle of Buckie” and Lisa O’Neill’s “Rock the Machine,” before he was rejoined by the band for a second set, which culminated, as it has throughout this tour, with openers Ekko Astral joining them for a cover of Adam and the Ants’ “Dog Eat Dog.”

The lights had gone up and people were beginning to leave when Ted and the band returned to the stage for “Ballad of the Sin Eater,” which Ted crowd-surfed during. A fun show all around!

Ted also came out during Ekko Astral’s opening set to sing backup vocals on “i90,” a highlight from this year’s great pink balloons.

The Shake The Sheets tour will return to the NYC area this fall for a recently-added show at Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on November 13. Tickets are on sale now.
