T-Pain has been winning over new fans ever since the famously auto-tuned singer showed off that his gorgeous voice didn’t need auto-tuning at all in a 2014 NPR Tiny Desk Concert (and in another one the following year). He’s currently taking a similarly stripped-down approach on his acoustic tour, and he’s joined by a great opener, Smino, whose blkswn is one of 2017’s finer rap/R&B albums. Their tour hit NYC’s Gramercy Theatre last night (10/24) with additional support from Carl Gershon, and we’ve got pictures of that show in the gallery above.
T-Pain also brought his auto-tune-less voice to TRL, which MTV inexplicably relaunched this month. He did a medley with “Buy U A Drank,” “I’m ‘n Luv (Wit A Stripper),” “F.B.G.M.,” and “Bartender.” He was also joined by Blac Youngsta later on in the show for “Goal Line.” You can watch videos of both performances below.
