Robert Plant and his current band Saving Grace — featuring vocalist Suzi Dian, along with drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown – are in the midst of a North American tour tour, and that hit NYC’s Brooklyn Paramount on Wednesday night.
Their recent album, Saving Grace, features originals and a lot of covers, and they played a little more than half of it at Brooklyn Paramount, including their versions of Low’s “Everybody’s Song” and Moby Grape’s “It’s a Beautiful Day Today.” They also covered Neil Young’s “For the Turnstiles,” and traditional number “Soul of a Man” which Plant recorded on his 2002 album Mighty Rearranger.
This being Robert Plant, of course there were a few Led Zeppelin songs: “Ramble On,” “The Rain Song,” “Friends,” and “Four Sticks” which ended the night.
