Riot Fest 2024 day 2 pics (Pavement, Beck, St. Vincent, Descendents, Basement, Dillinger Four, more)

After kicking off on Friday, the 2024 edition of Riot Fest continued at Chicago’s Douglass Park on Saturday (9/21). Bright Eyes didn’t make it, having cancelled their set, and their shows in NYC and Omaha, “on the advice of doctors,” but Pavement and Beck were on hand to close out the night, with NOFX headlining their NOFX World stage for the second night in a row. Here’s more about Beck’s set from Chicago Sun Times:

The relatively short headlining set (just 75 minutes long) came off like a televised variety show with revolving cartoon and geometric graphics, Tokyo-meets-Vegas bright lights and a five-piece band on an elevated platform accessible via stairs, which Beck raced up and down while remaining the affable host of ceremonies.

Saturday at Riot Fest also featured Waxahatchee, Descendents, St. Vincent, Basement (for one of their first US shows in 5 years), Spoon (who said it was their last show with keyboardist Gerardo Larios), Clutch, Dillinger Four, Sincere Engineer, D.O.A., The Hives, Heart Attack Man, Princess Goes, Jason Narducy’s childhood band Verböten (playing their first show in over 40 years), Liquid Mike, Brutus, Buzzcocks, Sweet Pill, HEALTH, Manchester Orchestra (who performed Cope in full), Lagwagon, Beach Bunny, L.S. Dunes, Taking Back Sunday, and more. See pictures by James Richards IV below.
