Foals @ Terminal 5, 12/18/2015
I have never seen a Foals show where frontman Yannis Philippakis didn’t make some insane flying leap into the crowd. At Friday’s show at Terminal 5, he disappeared from the stage only to reemerge on the second floor balcony, over the barrier and dropped into the waiting arms of fans below. Stunts aside, Foals are a tight unit who’ve honed the craft for the festival circuit, and these days are as much about swaying, highly changed anthems as they are about the mathy postpunk dancerock that gave them their start. The crowd ate it all up.
Foals’ tour with Circa Waves wrapped up the next night in Philly. Next they’ll head to Australia in the new year. More pictures from the whole night at Terminal 5, plus Foals’ setlist, below…
