Phish began Forest Hills Stadium run, Page McConnell threw 1st pitch at Mets game (pics, video, setlist)

Phish began their two show Forest Hills Stadium run on Tuesday night (7/22). These are their first full NYC shows not happening at Madison Square Garden (where they do their annual New Year’s Eve run and have played 87 shows so far) since 2014, and night one got their cover of The Beatles’ “I Am The Walrus,” which closed out the first of two sets. While they didn’t pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne following the sad news of his death earlier that day, his No More Tears track “Mama, I’m Coming Home” served as the evening’s walk-out music, and had lots of people singing along, as JamBase points out.

Check out pictures from night one by Thom McKenna, the setlist, and attendee-taken video below.

While the band is in NYC, keyboardist and lifelong fan of the team Page McConnell threw out the opening pitch for the Mets’ third game against the Los Angeles Angels at Citi Field on Wednesday (7/23), before their second Forest Hills Stadium show this evening. Watch video of that below, as well.
