Hundreds of thousands took to the streets of Washington DC, NYC, and other cities worldwide in support of gun control for Saturday’s (3/24) March For Our Lives. Teenagers and children took to the streets in droves on Saturday, answering the call of students who survived the shooting at their high school in Parkland, FL, and lots of adults joined them, too. Mayor Bill de Blasio estimated attendance of the NYC march to be around 100,000 people; the DC march, according to NBC News, numbered around 800,000 attendees. Prominent among the marchers in NYC was Paul McCartney, who spoke in remembrance of John Lennon to CNN. “One of my best friends was killed by gun violence right around here,” he said, “so it’s important to me not just to march today but to take action tomorrow.”
Kanye West marched alongside his wife Kim Kardashian and daughter North in DC. “We stand in solidarity with the survivors & students who are calling for action on common sense gun safety laws at #MarchForOurLives around the country,” Kim wrote.

Vic Mensa, Common, and Andra Day were among those who performed at the pre-march rally in DC, which Cher also attended.
