Love and Rockets‘ 1989 hit “So Alive” turned 35 this year, and to celebrate the band are releasing a remix EP on August 30 via Beggars Arkive. The six-track EP features remixes and dub versions by The Crystal Method and D.J. K along with the original mix of the song, which went all the way to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Meanwhile, Love and Rockets began their tour with Jane’s Addiction this week. The band’s setlist for the shows so far have been a slightly pared-down version of what the brought on their 2023 reunion tour, including “So Alive,” “No New Tale to Tell,” “Yin and Yang of the Flowerpot Man,” their cover of “Ball of Confusion,” “Haunted When the Minutes Drag,” and more. Sadly it doesn’t look like they’ve got that tour’s awesome stage production and light show, which makes sense given they’re opening.
Jane’s Addiction’s sets include favorites like “Mountain Song,” “Jane’s Says,” “Stop!,” and “Been Caught Stealin’,” and new song “Imminent Redemption.” You can check out photos both Love & Rockets and Jane’s Addiction from Tuesday’s LA show at YouTube Theatre, along with both bands’ setlists and attendee-taken video, below.
