Electroclash may not be making a full-on comeback, but Le Tigre‘s reunion shows have been welcomed with open arms. The group — Kathleen Hanna, JD Samson, and Johanna Fateman — just wrapped up their North American tour with three joyous, sold-out NYC shows at Brooklyn Steel. Each night got a different opener: Thursday was Morgan Bassichis (and Murray Hill as MC), Friday was Shamir, and Saturday was with Hyd. Photos from Friday by Ellen Qbertplaya are in this post.
Like the two shows surrounding it, Friday was a nonstop party as the crowd worked it out to early-’00s classics including “Eau d’Bedroom Dancing,” “Hot Topic,” “The The Empty,” “TKO,” “My My Metrocard” (someone actually made a giant Metrocard sign to hold up at the show), “Mediocrity Rule,” and the ever-relevant “Get Off the Internet.” The encore of “Phanta” and “Deceptacon” sent folks into hysterics, the former of which Kathleen jumped rope at the end of
