Jimmy Eat World brought ‘Bleed American’ to Brooklyn w/ Get Up Kids & Hey Mercedes (pics, video, setlist)

Jimmy Eat World are celebrating 25 years of their mainstream breakthrough album Bleed American on tour this year, and they hit Brooklyn Paramount on Tuesday night (6/16) for the first of two NYC shows (the second happened on Wednesday at Pier 17). Their Bleed American set was bookended by an intro of four songs of Clarity (“Believe in What You Want,” “Your New Aesthetic,” “Lucky Denver Mint,” and the title track) and an encore of one more Clarity song (“For Me This is Heaven”), a few newer songs, including “(Splash) Turn Twist” off their 2004 Firestarter EP, which they’re playing for the first time on this run. See Tuesday night’s setlist and attendee-taken video below.

They’ve lined up some incredible support for these shows, a rotating list that includes longtime peers, bands that influenced them, and newer bands they’ve inspired. For Brooklyn Paramount, they were joined by The Get Up Kids and Hey Mercedes, and you can see pictures from the whole night by Rob Menzer below.
