Global Citizen 2024 had Post Malone, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran & Chris Mart

The 2024 Global Citizen festival took place on Saturday at Central Park’s Great Lawn. Post Malone and Doja Cat were the announced headliners, but Chris Martin (who had been scheduled to appear, not perform) and Ed Sheeran surprised the crowd with a short collaborative set featuring Coldplay’s “Yellow” and “Viva La Vida” and Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” and “Thinking Out Loud.” Watch video of that below.

Saturday was rainy but some 60,000 people braved the soggy weather, and Global Citizen also had performances from Benson Boone, Jelly Roll (who played the Saturday Night Live Season 50 premiere later that night), Raye, Lisa, and Rauw Alejandro. Hugh Jackman was this year’s host. The festival raised money to help combat extreme poverty and was also live-streamed.
