Drain, No Pressure, Haywire (ft. Harley Flanagan) & Secret World played Irving Plaza (pics, video, setlist)

Drain released one of our favorite albums of 2025 with …Is Your Friend, and they’re on their spring tour supporting it, which stopped at Irving Plaza on Sunday night (3/29) for their first of two NYC shows. The bill for this run is incredibly stacked all around, with The Story So Far vocalist Parker Cannon’s hardcore-adjacent pop punk band No Pressure, hardcore band of 2025 Haywire, and Australian melodic hardcore group Secret World opening the shows. Both Haywire and No Pressure felt like they could’ve headlined themselves, and each had the packed house going insane and singing along. No Pressure also played some new songs and showed some love to NY with a cover of Gorilla Biscuits’ “Big Mouth,” and Haywire did their cover of Title Fight’s “Shed” that they debuted back in September and have been doing regularly ever since. Vocalist Austin Spark stagedived into the crowd from the platform under the balcony to start their final song of the night, “Like a Train,” and to make their NYC set even more special, they also brought out NYC’s own Cro-Mags vocalist Harley Flanagan to join them on it.

Drain themselves are also operating on a higher level than ever, and they kept the mayhem coming as they played songs from throughout their various albums. There was lots of crowd participation, their costumed shark mascot running the stage and audience, a kind of lifeguard just sitting on stage, a big surfboard that Sammy sometimes rides on the crowd but instead this time his friend did, a wall of death, lots of crowdsurfing, and more. See pictures from the whole night by Rob Menzer below, along with video and setlists, and pick up our exclusive patina rust splash vinyl variant of …Is Your Friend in the BV shop.

Drain, No Pressure, Haywire, and Secret World do it again in Brooklyn at Warsaw tonight (10/30).

Haywire, who also played a 3rd last minute NYC show nights earlier after playing Philly, also covered Trapped Under Ice’s “Please To Meet You” at their Baltimore show on Wednesday night, and you can watch video of that below as well.
