Crowded House played Rough Trade (pics, setlist, video)

Crowded House were in NYC over the weekend to celebrate the release of their fantastic eighth album, Gravity Stairs. They played a very intimate show at Bowery Ballroom on Friday, and then on Monday they played an even more intimate show: an in-store at Rough Trade in Rockefeller Center.

Neil Finn, his sons Liam and Elroy, bassist Nick Seymour and Mitchell Froom were plugged in but dialed-back, and their six-song set featured three songs from the new album (“All That I Can Ever Own,” “Oh Hi” and “Teenage Summer”) and three early-’90s classics (“Distant Sun,” “Fall At Your Feet” and “Weather With You”). They also signed fans’ records.

Crowded House’s North American tour starts August 29 in St. Augustine, FL and hits NYC at Rooftop at Pier 17 on September 4.
