Chelsea Wolfe released her great seventh album She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She last month, and her tour supporting it just hit NYC for a pair of shows: Warsaw on Tuesday (3/12) and Bowery Ballroom on Wednesday (3/13), both with Australian doom metal duo Divide and Dissolve. We went to the Bowery Ballroom show, which was mesmerizing from start to finish, with pulsing lights amplifying the effects of Chelsea’s dark soundscapes and ethereal vocals. Not speaking much between songs, she played every song off the new album (although not in order) and a few older songs, closing the night with gorgeous solo acoustic renditions of Birth of Violence track “Be All Things” and “The Liminal” from her new album.
